We are delighted to announce that Windrush Nurses and Midwives Leadership Programme is open for applications in the week we are celebrating the anniversary of Windrush. With the great success of the 2019 participants, we have launched a second intake in early 2020 and now we are accepting applications of the third group.
We recently celebrated the 72. anniversary of the Empire Windrush arriving at Tilbury Docks. This leadership programme honours the descendants of the Windrush Generation as well as all the other NHS staff from ethnic minority backgrounds. Windrush nurses and midwives were, and their descendants remain, major contributors to the NHS workforce and we want to acknowledge their contribution to healthcare with a special leadership programme fully funded by Health Education England.
