What is a Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) Scholarship?
Florence Nightingale Foundation scholarships offer nurses and midwives developmental opportunities, both in the UK and overseas in order to improve patient care, to extend their knowledge and skills, and to improve innovation in practice.
We offer three types of scholarship to nurses and midwives who are currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and who are working in the UK:
• Travel – Scholars will have the opportunity to study best practice or education in the UK and/or overseas. Scholarships are awarded for projects which will benefit patients, users and the professions more widely.
• Leadership (either Senior, Aspiring Nurse/Midwifery Director or Emerging Leader) – these bespoke leadership scholarships equip scholars with the skills and confidence to contribute positively and significantly to healthcare.
Senior Leadership – available to senior nurses or midwives, Deputy Deans of Schools of Nursing/Midwifery Faculties of Health in Universities.
Aspiring Nurse/Midwifery Director – available to nurses and midwives with the potential to secure a Board level position in the next 2 – 3 years.
