Julia Terry, who received a Florence Nightingale Foundation Travel Scholarship in 2011 to look into “An evaluation of instructors’ experiences of delivering mental health first Aid training in Wales” has been awarded a 3 Fellowship by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). The aim of the Fellowship is to further knowledge and influence. Julia is the first Mental Health Nurse to receive the Fellowship.
Speaking to the Nursing Standard Julia said, “[the Fellowship] has given me a platform to drive health improvement and raise the profile of Mental Health Nursing”.
Since being given the award, Julia has been promoted to Associate Professor at Swansea University and she is also mental health team lead in the Department of Nursing.
