The Florence Nightingale Foundation is delighted to report that The Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (HEFT) has been nominated for a Kate Granger Award for the work that Julie Tunney and her team have done on compassionate care.

Julie received a leadership scholarship from the foundation in 2013 which included a patient improvement project focused on the introduction of compassion cards for the nursing team. This system was focused on both encouraging and recognising compassionate practice in the trust with the crucial aim of improving patient care.

The foundation wishes to congratulate Julie and the entire nursing team at HEFT for the recognition of their work and looks forward to the announcement of the awards at Expo 2015 on 2nd and 3rd September.
