Accompanied by Sir Stephen Moss and John Rivers she was given a car tour of all Florence Nightingale’s sites around Derbyshire followed by a visit to Lea Hurst former home of Florence. Peter Kay the current owner has refurbished the house and restored her bedroom and sitting room. These areas can now be rented on Airbnb so many can now have a “Florence experience”! Dame Yvonne Moores said, “It was amazing to feel so close to Florence and it brought back memories of the major influence she had on my nursing career.”
On her visit to Royal Derby Hospital, she met the Chair, executive team and many nurse leaders and heard of all the excellent workforce developments which directly impacted on the high quality of care patients received. Very well done to Cathy Winfield and all her nurses.
