Delighted to announce Regional Chief Nurse, Dr Lynne Wigens who is a proud alumna of our Foundation leaves a gift in her will for us.
Dr Lynne Wigens said: “As a senior nurse over the course of my career, I have seen the unique part that the Florence Nightingale Foundation plays in developing the leadership potential within the nursing and midwifery professions.
I have been so fortunate as a Florence Nightingale Scholar to have had the opportunity to research international integrated care systems and lead on a country-wide talent management scheme for aspirant chief nurses/directors of nursing.
I have seen that the bespoke, diverse and current approach to supporting clinician’s leadership aspirations really impacts on local, regional and national professional leadership – strengthening the collective voice of nursing and midwifery. It has been a privilege to be a Florence Nightingale Scholar and to mentor and support other scholars. None of this great work would happen without charitable funding, so, for this reason, I have chosen to remember the Florence Nightingale Foundation in my will.”
